UFO sightings in November 2018

The Irish Aviation Authority is investigating reports from pilots that an unidentified flying object was spotted over western Ireland. A pilot of British Airways flight BA94, flying from Montreal, contacted air traffic control in Shannon last Friday to report seeing an object moving very quickly past the aircraft. The pilot asked if there were any military exercises taking place off the west coast of Ireland. She was informed there were no military exercises in the area, according to a recording of the conversation by Airlive, a website for aviation fans. Air traffic control told the Irish Times newspaper that nothing had appeared on either primary or secondary radar. The pilot said the object and her plane were not going to collide, but she was mystified by what it could be.

A Virgin Airlines pilot flying from Orlando to Manchester, who flew over the same region, told a similar story and said the spectacle looked like an extremely bright meteor or another object making some kind of re-entry.

The Irish Aviation Authority told the Irish Times it was investigating the incident. Dr. Chris Lowe, a sceptical UFO expert and enthusiast, told Euronews: “In all probability, it is a meteor or other bits of space junk re-entering the Earth’s atmosphere. The fact that it was fast, glowing and at a low angle trajectory is typical of this." However, he said aspects of the reports were more unusual.

“One of the pilots said the ‘objects’ tracked the path of the plane, to the side — but then it ‘veered off'." "This is odd, as a meteor would normally maintain its trajectory unless deflected (after an impact or collision) — and it would not normally change directory & ever away," he added.

Lowe said that there have been an "escalating number of fairly convincing reports of flying discs and triangles which appear to defy current technological ability and the laws of physics" over the past couple of years. "Many of these have been observed by high-value, likely-reliable witnesses, including military and civil pilots, navy personnel & police officers," he added.

The Irish Aviation Authority (IAA) is investigating an unidentified flying object (UFO) which streaked across the sky on Friday morning and disappeared. Several commercial aircraft reported seeing at least one bright light with one pilot stating that the UFO was going at an “astronomical” speed of at least Mach 2 (2,500 km/h), which is twice as fast as a commercial jetliner. If there are little green men and women visiting Earth for the first time, they have proved to be very elusive.

The British Airways 787, call sign Speedbird 94, radioed Shannon Air Traffic Control at 6.47am asking if there were any military exercises off the west coast of Ireland. A pilot recounted: “It was moving so fast. It appeared on our left hand side and rapidly veered to the north. We saw a bright light and it then just disappeared at a very high speed. “We were just wondering. We didn’t think it was likely political. We were just wondering what it might be”, she added.

A Shannon air traffic controller responded: “There’s nothing showing on either primary or secondary (radar)”.

A pilot from a Virgin Airlines plane, callsign Virgin76, came on to air traffic control and suggested it might be a “meteor or another object making some kind of re-entry. There appeared to be multiple objects following the same sort of trajectory. They were very bright from where we were.” The pilot also confirmed that he he had seen “two bright lights that seemed to bank over to the right and climb away at speed at least from our perspective.”

A third pilot responded: “Glad it wasn’t just me”.

An IAA spokesman said the authority is investigating the incident and will file a report. “This report will be investigated under the normal confidential occurrance investigation process.” The spokesman added that it was unlikely to be aliens from another planet.

On November 9 at around 7:40 UTC, the pilot of a British Airways flight #BA94 from Montreal contacted Shannon Air Traffic Control (ATC) to ask if there were military exercises taking place in the airspace through which her Boeing 787 was passing

Shannon ATC replied: “There is nothing showing on either primary or secondary [radar].”
The pilot responded: “OK. It was moving so fast.”
The controller then asked: “Alongside you?”
The BA pilot, flying from Montreal to Heathrow, describes how the UFO came up along the left-hand side of the aircraft, “then rapidly veered to the north”.
She said it was “a very bright light” that “disappeared at very high speed”.
She said they were “wondering” what it could be, that it did not seem to be on a collision course.

A Virgin Airlines pilot of #VS76 from Orlando to Manchester reported seeing the same thing.
He described it as a “meteor or another object making some kind of re-entry.”
He said it appears to be “multiple objects following the same sort of trajectory – very bright from where we were.”
Another pilot also reported a sighting.

The planes were flying in high level airspace – which extends upwards from 28,500ft to 42,000ft.
The Irish Aviation Authority (IAA) said it had filed a report on the sightings which will be “investigated under the normal confidential occurrence investigation process.”

Th:
